Overview

The Valero Three Rivers Refinery is located in South Texas, halfway between San Antonio and Corpus Christi. The refinery has access to crude oil from West Texas and South Texas through third-party pipelines and trucks. The refinery distributes its refined petroleum products primarily through third-party pipelines.

Volunteering TIme

Three Rivers employees annually log more than 2,900 total volunteer hours in our local community.

Charitable Donations

  • Provided $240,000 divided among nine local children’s charities through funds raised by the Valero Texas Open Benefit for Children
  • Provided funds to purchase 100 laptops for fifth and sixth grade students as well as teachers at the local elementary school
  • $250,000 to Atascosa Health Center for a new medical clinic in Three Rivers
  • In the past five years, more than $200,000 has been provided to the Live Oak County Boys & Girls Clubs.

  • Valero Three Rivers meets with its Community Advisory Council twice a year to discuss a variety of topics including emergency response and community engagement.

Safety Awards & Honors

  • OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star Site since 2003; Employee commitment across all disciplines demonstrated by safety programs.
  • 2023 AFPM Elite Gold Award recipient for performance in the top 5 percentile of industry safety
  • 2022 AFPM Innovation Award recipient for implementing its innovative design of an energy isolation lock out device for an air operated valve (AOV) on alkylation unit fire monitors and vapor suppression systems when testing
  • 2021 AFPM Elite Silver Award recipient for performance in the top 10 percentile of industry safety
  • Participates in regular emergency preparedness drills.
