Valero Hosts First Annual Contractor Safety Summit
The Corporate Health and Safety Department recently held the first Valero Contractor Safety Summit. The summit, 'Geared for Success. Together.' created an opportunity for participants to connect, foster relationships and share best practices, elevating personnel safety with the goal of zero incidents.
Contractor Safety Management is one of the seven Goal Zero focus areas. Since contractors serve as key business partners and are critical to operational excellence, this event provided an opportunity for Valero's leadership to share their perspective and expectations with representatives from approximately 20 companies.
Valero's leadership not only showcased their commitment to safety, but also enabled a broader discussion on current safety challenges and solutions. Collaborative brainstorming sessions focused on operations and safety identified opportunities for improvement within contractor safety management.
With this being the first Contractor Safety Summit held by Valero, the summit helped raise the bar for safety standards across the company.
